What an amazing two weeks out in Seattle with my family! We took over 500 pictures, so to make this update a bit more manageable, I'll split it into two weeks again this year. Some highlights not captured below - getting needed rest, beautiful cool morning runs, having lunch and coffee at one of our favorite spots the first day there, just Dave and I, and then having time to stop and shop on the way home, a sweet morning of worship with my old church family. And overall, it was just so nice to have time with my family, see dear friends (so many of which have BOYS, so crazy), and soak up the evergreen trees, mountains, water, and COOL air (especially after the hot DC summer). We truly savored every moment.
Followed by s'mores around Grandpa and Grandma's outdoor fire pit.
One of the many many moments Will enjoyed Grandpa's arms.
The next day, feeding ducks at the neighborhood lake.
With my sis in law JA.
And meeting up with one of my best friends from HS, who moved into my parents neighborhood and now has two boys - SO MUCH FUN.
Friday evening dinner at the cousins house, an impromptu jam session...perhaps an expanded boy band is in their future? ;)
One of my oldest and dearest friends came over to play on Saturday. She now as two boys as well. Our boys had a BLAST with them.
Will and baby C.
Andrew and Conner hammin it up =).
Grandma K's fun pool.
A gathering with sweet family at my parents house Sunday afternoon. It was so wonderful to have time with them.
Grandpa with his 5 grandsons - #6 is coming in October!
Happy boys.
Andrew loves his Uncle Josh.
Monday morning we attempted to survive a 95 degree day (didn't feel as bad to me) at a local splash park with the cousins and Tiffany's boys (next year, they'll be 8 boys lined up there!). I should have taken a picture of the honey bucket - it's where Andrew and I spent the majority of our time. He was a bit stopped up ;).
That afternoon Dave and I got to sneak away with just Will for a few hours. We headed downtown, stopped at Moka's for some coffee, then Macrina's bakery on Queen Anne for some goodies, and then to Kerry park to take in the city.
Will's first glimpse of Seattle.
A sweet moment - Caden cuddlin up with Grandpa during his quiet time.
Tuesday we headed over to my cousins GORGEOUS vacation home in Eastern Washington for an overnight getaway.
We enjoyed meals outside by the pool.
The house is in the desert, surrounded by vineyards...
and mountains/canyons.
Dave took the boys out on a "boy adventure" the next morning. This was one of the major highlights of the trip for our boys.
They climbed sand dunes....
How happy are they??
And then went to a local dam, which had a fun museum/information center.
Ready for some pool fun.
Will's getting a bit big for the bumbo, but it was an easy place to keep him safe and contained, and he matched the decor ;).
Andrew started his pool time in one of these. By the end, he was jumping off the side and kicking behind a kick board - so great.
Caden swimming with Grandma. It's amazing what concentrated time with a pool all to themselves will do. He was excited to be brave, jump in, stick his face in the water. Next summer I'm dreaming of being somewhere by a pool for a good week - it would be so great for them.More pics of the following week to come soon....
