Mid April brought an offer from Cross Sound church to join their team as a pastor. We prayed, we processed and sought counsel with dear friends and family, and in the end felt such peace and clarity that this is where God was calling us. It felt scary and overwhelming in some ways, but also incredibly exciting. This is what was happening in the life of our family as all of this was unfolding...
Andrew soaked up every moment of this outing to the Sandy Spring Adventure Park with his Boy Scout troop. He was on his own on this ropes course, moving his carabiners and zip line by himself. He cruised through it like a champ!
And navigated this obstacle better than many of the adults.
I enjoyed a sweet weekend away with the women of our church. A few of us braved the Baltimore riots via a pretty insane taxi ride to enjoy an incredible meal at Woodberry Kitchen.
I'm so glad we made it there - the food (and company) was amazing!
I got to join Caden's class on a field trip to Rocklands farm!
It was so incredibly fun to be with his public school class, at the farm of these dear friends who I lived with the summer I met Dave.
Caden enjoyed Westbrook's Carnival with a few of his good buddies.
Will won a cake for being the best dancer during the cake walk!
I had to capture what was likely one last picture of my boys in their choir robes.
Will with his dear friend Lucy! We were SO excited to get to spend time with these dear friends! I'm only sorry I didn't take more pictures.
Our packed dining and..
living room the night we told YCF that we were moving. This was an excruciatingly emotional night for us - this community is so incredibly dear and precious to us.
Hannah and Martin's wedding invitation arrived! Jo Jo worked some serious magic with her calligraphy.
Andrew running the relay for his grade at field day.
Spring Festival at church! Another one of our favorite days of the year.
Even Grandma Dee Dee got some cotton candy. How fun to experience it with Tia and Grandpa Jerry too.
Somehow this train never gets old. Andrew chillin in the back with our neighbor Chris, and his good buddy Peter.
Preschool graduation day! I had way too many life changes I was processing at the moment to fully grasp this. But look at him!
We LOVED his teacher Ms. Balsley. A dear friend, and so fun that he got to be in her first preschool class. She is amazing.
Can't believe he's done with Preschool.
With his good car pooling buddy Alice.
The next weekend I flew out to Seattle for my dear Uncle Bob's funeral.
Catching up with Auntie Donna at my parents house.
The burial was absolutely beautiful - at The Little White Church on the Hill, built by one of my great great great grandfathers, pastored by another great great grandfather, and overlooking the valley where both my parents grew up. This place is so special to me.
After a sweet time of celebrating my Uncle, and catching up with family, we headed down to Seattle to catch a ferry to see OUR new house.
I discovered the wonder of Storyville Coffee while waiting for the ferry. What I didn't know at the time is that it's roasted on Bainbridge Island!
Our home! Which now looks a little different (pics our paint job will come later). We bought it sight unseen just a week before. What we didn't know at this time was that there were several offers that came in way above ours, but after hearing about our family from our real estate agent, the seller hand picked us and wanted us to have it. Wow.
It was so fun to see our sweet nephews explore the house and yard!
On the ferry ride home, feeling very excited.
Back home, visiting Caden's class for his young authors day.
Andrew finishing his soccer season - he discovered his love for goalie.
Caden tried a week long lacrosse clinic, and LOVED it.
Visiting Grandpa Jerry at his store makes running errands with mom so much more fun.
The school year was winding down, and we had major changes ahead.
