Spring comes softly here in the Northwest. Instead of the sudden onslaught of cherry blossoms and 70 degree days, the temps gradually warm into the 50's and 60's, and as we dance into April the 70 degree days appear in all their splendor. Here is a bit of what life looked like around here in March.
Wet weather means muddy church clothes. These boys have fun running around with their buddies after church.
The break between basketball and Spring sports meant a few lazy Saturday mornings, which felt wonderful.
The was the beginning of our massive brush pile. With just under an acre of land, we've had (and still have) a lot to clean up!

A sweet couple in our church was sweet (and brave) to invite our family for dinner. Our boys were very polite, and enjoyed playing with a toy I purged years ago (there was a pee incident involved, the lincoln logs weren't salvageable).
Caden wrote this song. It blew us away.
We had art night at Blakely, and enjoyed walking around to all of their classrooms.

March means forsythia - by far my favorite flower to cut and bring inside.
Devan came to visit! This was such a treat. I got play tour guide and show her around Seattle one day.

At Bay Hay and Feed - one of our favorite spots on the island.
We got to go for a run! This was a fun story. She forgot to pack running shoes, so I put something out on our island facebook page asking if anyone had shoes we could borrow. And of course someone responded and was happy to help. Only on Bainbridge.
Returning the shoes (just 10 min from our house), this was the view of Seattle.
Enjoying the new fire pit on our deck. The water is just 3/4 of a mile beyond those trees, which means we can see peeks of it from upstairs.

Our church hosted a Seder dinner on Maundy Thursday.
I had never been to one before..
and it was amazing for us all to experience something similar to what Jesus and his disciples experienced at the last supper.

We hopped on the ferry and headed toward Grandpa and Grandma's house.
Our kids table isn't looking to "kid like" any more. These boys are growing up!
After a gorgeous week, we had a rainy day, which meant an indoor egg hunt. Andrew was thrilled to find this egg filled with cauliflower. Grandma is hilarious.
There was an epic dance party to end the night - what better way to celebrate Easter.
And finally, here's Addy! She's continuing to do really well, and loving life here. Hoping her kidneys continue to hang in there.
