A morning and picnic lunch at the monuments - what better way to start Presidents Day weekend?!? We let the boys loose with our camera, so this post has a few more pics than usual.
We started at the Jefferson. My mom had driven by several times, but never gone inside.
I had to laugh - as we walked around the tidal basin and approached the Jefferson, Will was obsessing about one of the ducks. One of our nations landmarks was towering in front of us, and he wanted to know where the duck's mommy was, why he wasn't with the other ducks, etc, etc. :).
It's much bigger inside than it looks.
Taking it in.
With Grandma on the Jefferson steps.
The tidal basin. In just a few weeks it will be painted in hues of pink. Can't wait!
Walking into the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial, which we hadn't yet seen.
MLK memorial, taken by Andrew.
Love that smile.
These two really are best buds.
Picnic lunch on the steps of the Lincoln.
Silly Will with Grandma.
Not a bad picnic view.

Another one by Andrew.
Don't know who gets credit for this one...
Happy Will. Just after this, two sweet Chinese ladies come up and just wanted to hug him, and have their picture taken with him.
The next day (Saturday), Grandma took the big boys over to the Cathedral and let them take pictures (while daddy worked, and mommy organized).
Walking up.
Love this one taken by Andrew.
And this one taken by Caden.
What an incredible time with Grandma. We feel so blessed that we get to have these special visits with her! And in just a month, Grandpa and Grandma will be here together!! We're already counting down the days.
