Day 3! Still basking in the glow of a magical night ending in Times Square, we were ready to take in more of what this city has to offer.
A short walk to Bryant Park.
A perfect place for breakfast. I'm pretty sure Caden dumped his hot chocolate down his shirt right after we took this picture ;).
And then we were off.
Making our way across town so that we could catch the Subway down to the meatpacking district.
Striking a pose with models (notice photo shoot in far background) as we made our way to...
The Highline! An incredibly beautiful elevated walkway, which is basically a refurbished railway. The paths, gardens, seating, are all woven into the old tracks.
Will, standing on a chair that rolls on the track.
Perfect place for a quick break.
Next break - this covered area with a delicious taco stand, organic frozen fruit bars, and some fab entertainment.
Will loves to pretend he's a choo choo train. And Tia really is the most fun.
Our whole crazy O'Connell, Choi crew. Love doing vacations with them!
Beautiful views/perspectives on the city.
And beautiful art and masterfully planned gardens along the way. So so impressive.
Making our way back to the metro, we found a fruit stand. Perfect chance to get some nuturition. And fiber ;).
Making our way to the Natural History Museum. Look at those tired faces!
To build some excitement for this part of the trip, the boys watched "Night at the Museum" right before we left.
Anyone who's seen the movie will know that this monkey was a central character. They were very excited.
Wish they'd been a little more excited about this Pacific Northwest longboat. They had an amazing exhibit on Pacific Nothwest Native Americans - fun to eat up a little slice of home.
And lastly, we found dum dum. They learned nothing about Easter Island, but were overjoyed to offer dum dum some gum gum. We're great parents.
As we left the museum, it was raining HARD. This put a little damper on our plans to walk to Columbus Circle for dinner, but after a quick bite at Shake Shack, we were off to our hotel to check out and head to THE BEACH! Thanks Tia for being our tour guide, hostess, hand holder, and Tia extraordinaire. You are truly the best!
