Fall in the PNW means salmon fishing. Especially when the pinks/humpies are running.
Labor Day weekend was the perfect time to get out on the Sound.
My dad's childhood buddy, Pastor Don, met us up north with two of his little fishing boats. Caden was ready to go.
Grandpa Jack and Andrew were in the other boat.
Caden with our only catch of the day.
Andrew had his own thoughts about holding that fish.
I love this pic - his face a mixture of proud, excited, and grossed out.
We stopped for a late breakfast/lunch at a country cafe in the small town where my parents grew up (Silvana). Grandpa pointing out some of his childhood friends in the picture on the wall.
Caden's priceless expression when his pancake arrived. I have such fond memories of trying to eat these as a kid.
After picking up Will at Grandma's, we were on a ferry back home.
Some sweet new friends invited us to paint pottery after church that weekend.
Painting with the Brouwers and Sellers - some of our new favorite buddies. We enjoyed dinner at the Province's house after, and the boys got to experience an epic game of german spotlight on the golf course. I loved how the older kids there loved on and included our kids.
The boys settled into their new school very well. Andrew, being a big kid on campus get's to be a big kid helper.
Soaking up a warm after school snack and games on the deck.
This boy is such a ham.
First day of soccer for all three boys!
After three games - little one didn't want to stand up anymore.
Later that night we enjoyed a super fun night at the Wicklunds.
After dinner we snuck down to their beach..
To catch this gorgeous sunset.
The perfect spot for a swing.
The next night, Dave and I got our first date night! We checked out a local restaurant.
And enjoyed gelato and walking through town.
We had many Saturday mornings like this at Battle Point park.
And a super fun visit with the Rudy's! They stopped by for a few days on their way to China.
The thrill of a ride on mower.
The Brouwer boys have such fun toys.
Our first taste of the Grand Forest.
I don't think we'll ever get tired of these fern, mossy tree lined trails.
And I'll never get tired of these sweet bouquets from my sweet boys.
Fall in our new home was definitely off to a good start.
