Wow, I had no idea how badly I had neglected this blog. We are over 2 months behind! Here is my attempt to catch up - a brief look at our late Spring season.
Late April brought a visit from these dear friends from Romania. Loredona and her boys Dani and Calin came to stay with us the week after Spring Break. They had never been to America before, so it was a joy to show them around.
The White House was exciting!
It was a joy to see our boys love on these two special guys. Loredona and her husband had recently adopted these two from Darius House, the orphanage and school for special needs kids that Dave had just visited in March.
Participating in the "Run for the Lives" fundraiser for RCE.
A rare picture of the two of us.
Tia stole Andrew for a few hours on "take your child to work day". She's the best. He now wants to work in an office just like hers.
4th School fun run.
Love our 50's barber shop. They're about to re-do this shopping center, so every time we're there I feel like I have to capture this.
May showers - sometimes they just need to get wet.
50% off Frap week - they got their first tastes.
Checking out the Westbrook Carnival - our soon to be new school.
Mothers Day at Benihana.
The boys found this water snake at my cousin's birthday party at Rock Creek Park. They chased and attempted to (successfully) touch it for hours. What is it about boys and snakes?
Dr. Will.
Kentucky Derby party at the Gilberts!
All of our crazies - this was such a fun night!
Final soccer game with his best buddy. These two had quite the chemistry on the field - the refs never kept them together for too long!
An afternoon at a Virginia farm with the Weyants.
Petting a goat.
Making new friends.
Its in your genes bud.
Happy face.
"I'm touching a cow!"
Happy day.
Beautiful scenery.
The boys had their first piano recital!
So composed.
Look at that face.
Andrew especially loves it. We never have to ask him to practice, it's the first thing he ran to do after school every day.
With their dear teacher, and my sweet friend Diana.
May weather brought out the slip n slide!
This year we added the slide.
Andrew let Will borrow some of his bracelets for rainbow day.
Some pre YCF bible study fun - a marshmallow toss.
There were some happy squirrels and bunnies the next morning.
Love these ladies.
Prayers for Uncle Josh.
The preschool carnival. Precious.
Andrew at the Spring festival. We were away at Hadley and Aaron's wedding in NC, but this one apparently won and ate 6 cupcakes. Wow.
Caden got spoiled that weekend at the Choi's, and Will had some quality time with Grandpa Jerry and Grandma Dee Dee.
And Dave and I enjoyed an incredibly fun weekend away in NC!
We flew into Charlotte, so started our time at the Mint Museum of Art.
The DC crew at the rehearsal dinner.
Saturday morning we snuck away to Asheville - such a beautiful little mountain town! First stop was Wicked Weed brewery for a delicious lunch.
Happy Dave.
After walking around town, we stopped at Green Man Brewing Co on our way out. Good call.
The wedding was incredibly beautiful!
Happy bride and groom.
An impressive firework show to end the night. We were so honored to be a part of this weekend, and even more thankful to have had the chance to have shared life (especially with Hadley) before this new chapter in their lives has begun.
