Summer FUN

It's hard to believe our Summer is over half way over!! I've been horrible about taking pictures, and keeping this updated, but here is a BIT of what we've been up to:

We created a "Summer Fun" schedule to maintain some structure and give the boys something to get excited about every day. Andrew did a great job creating it ;). A quick interpretation: Sunday is church, Monday is outing day, Tuesday is pool day, Weds is church again (G2G), Thursday is art and craft day, Friday is pizza/movie (and also commonly a friend day), and Saturday is family day.

First Monday outing of the summer was the zoo.

Attending a midweek Big train baseball game was another highlight. It was HOT, but nothing that a good popsicle couldn't fix.

Fun family and friend time. And later that night is when our van was stolen for the first time.

The first weekend of July we enjoyed the wedding of dear friend (and co-worker) Melissa to the magnificent Jerry, at a local farm. Amidst the car craziness, we had two back to back wedding weekends.

I was part of a wonderful team of women that coordinated the reception. This picture captures some of the fruit of our labor.

All in all, it's been SUCH a fun summer so far. After a busy (and over scheduled) school year, it's been so nice to slow down. I love not being in a rush to get somewhere, I love being outside with my kids, and most of all having unhurried time with friends. So many other highlights haven't been captured in pictures - raspberry picking, pool time with friends, playdates, a week of camp at Concord St. Andrew's for the older boys, outings in Bethesda, some fun date nights for mom and dad (dinner and 'Midnight in Paris' in Bethesda, anniversary at Blue Duck Tavern, and a yummy Mexican restaurant in Adam's Morgan). What a fun time of year!
